=/\= Ship Awards Cont. =/\= USS Patriot: Genesis Post: "There but for the Grace of God"- N'gellin Post #3063 http://tv.groups.yahoo.com/group/USS-Patriot/message/4492 This was an excellent mission, with an excellent post to start it off. The mission started to reflect real life after a bit, so it is by far the most memorable. Funniest Post: #2912- Lt. Cmdr. Graxx Klevlane http://tv.groups.yahoo.com/group/USS-Patriot/message/4239 There was debate over whether to keep this post, because of its length, but we decided in the end that it was so funny in and of itself, it shouldn't be deleted. Best Character Post: #3026~ Lt. Cmdr. Graxx Klevlane-Finale http://tv.groups.yahoo.com/group/USS-Patriot/message/4401 A rather sad and very beautifully written ending for our Chief Engineer. Best Story Post: #3066~ Lt. Cmdr. Samira Barajas http://tv.groups.yahoo.com/group/USS-Patriot/message/4501 Most Valuable Player: Lt. Cmdr. Samira Barajas, who posted 180 times this month! Not only was the quantity of her posts superb, but the quality never failed to be just as great! Excellent job, Sammi! Most Improved Player: Lt. Tara Herculiod, who turned out the third highest post total this month, and whose post quality has not ceased to improve since she joined the Patriot. Great Job! (These are the winners of the Fleet Wide awards, a copy of the post has been linked form this page) Best Character Development Post--

Sr. Commander Sammi Barajas of the Patriot was kind enough to sit down with me for this month's interview. LtCmdr Barajas managed to post 180 times in August alone, helping the Patriot achieve its record-breaking 531 posts. It should also be noted that Ms. Baraja's is the first individual in IDF, to have been promoted by the Senior Admiralty to the rank of Senior Commander, the highest rank alotted an Officer prior to command! Congratulations SCMDR Barajas! Tell us about yourself. How did you get involved in simming? I catalog books in a
library, I'm married and have four sons I got involved in simming through a
friend when both of us posted on a ''Save Enterprise' board. I actually
bugged her to sign the petition and she got invited by Admiral Griffith and
then I harrrassed her to get me an invitation. Yes it is. I'm relatively new to simming, I've been on the Patriot since April. Do you have any hobbies outside of simming? What do you do to relax? I go camping, take
walks on the beach, play volleyball and soccer. I read and am on a few
Western and drama fan fiction sites. I spend time with
the family when I get home and sim after they go to work or to bed. I
require relatively little sleep and often will sim until the early hours of
morning. It's a number of
things. I can post from both home and work. On top of that, Captain N'gellin
is excellent at keeping the posts moving and giving us new twists to deal
with. Also, he is great at encouraging us, contacts us off the sim about
both RL and the sim. It's fun because we're like one happy family. And
lastly, the crew interracts with each other very well. No, lol! Though
there were a couple points in the story that a couple of us posted on top
of each other going in different directions. Again, we have an aweseome
Captain, he was good at meshing our posts to make the story continue and
both our posts were included. My favorite would be
Worf. He's definitely the man. His character was well developed. It's funny actually
because my simm character is wanted by the Klingons, Samira would run for
cover. Me, I'd ask him about his family and if he wants to share some blood
wine. I think it's to
keep the story moving and try to include everyone. And at the Patriot we're
friends as well as simmers. Some of us have even become family. We talk
outside the sim about everything from Star Trek to what we did that day to
our problems in everyday life. We've actually evolved to the point where the
sim isn't the reason we're together but a bonus. Lord of the rings
>>>Aragorn rocks Lord of the Rings
trilogy Our crew is awsome
and we interact very well. Even when we disagree or someone makes a blunder
in a post it's handled very well. Again, keeping the plot from conflicting
is credited a lot to Savai. If something happened in a post which
conflicted with an earlier one, he would post an amendment which fixed it. Sure we could! Who
knows one of these months we may even hit 600. This month however we have
some RL things going on. We're still posting but with college and school
starting it would be a stretch to hit 530. Homemade tortillas,
refried beans, spanish rice and steak..Fajitas basically My father. Oh, I'd go with
McCoy definitely. He had a great beside manner and a sense of humor no one
could beat. Just that my 180 posts weren't something I feel were mine alone. They belong to the rest of the crew of the Patriot also. Without their creative posts I would not have have an the inspiration to post as much as I did.. They are a fine bunch of simmers and I feel fortunate to be among them, especially, Savai, Tara, Linds and Jeremy, who have become very special to me. |

That's a wrap for this month. Thank you to all the contributors: Fleet Admiral Griffith, SCmdr Sammi Barajas, the COs/XOs who submitted awards this month, and to the simmers who keep this game going! Happy simming, everyone!
