Hello and welcome to the IDF Mega
Newsie. We have two months worth of information packed in here so
read up! -Rear Admiral Suzy Karmin -- Your Opinion Counts -- In an effort to make the
fleet more open and accepting to new ideas, Fleet Admiral Griffith has
developed a new program called "Your Opinion Counts" the purpose of this
program is to allow any fleet member from Enlisted-Ensign-Admiral express
their opinions, ideas, desires, hopes, etc to the Senior Admiralty.
To help streamline this, the Web Development Team here in IDF has created
a website and form that you can fill out expressing your opinions about
how you think IDF is doing, how to make it better, and what you would like
to see in the future! And so, we ask each member to, at their
earliest convenience, send in an email to
opinion@independencefleet.com and express your opinion
about how IDF is doing, how it can do better, what it needs to improve on,
and what you would like to see in the future for IDF! Remember, it is your input that makes this fleet what it is!
--Have a Complaint?-- To streamline the complaint process here in IDF, and better assist our members- the Independence Fleet Senior Admiralty has also created a website and form for reporting complaints. If you have a complaint, concern or otherwise, all you have to do is visit www.independencefleet.com/complaint.html and fill out the necessary information! Your complaint will be addressed and forwarded to the appropriate individuals within 48 hours! --See a Regulations Violation, need to report it?-- In an effort to ease the frustration of knowing who to, where to and how to submit a complaint regarding a violation of the rules or regulations, IDF has also created a streamlined form to handle these type of issues- if you see what you believe is a violation of the regulations, rules or otherwise- you may simply visit www.independencefleet.com/violation.html and report it. Your report will be totally confidential, and will be handled within 72 hours of receipt. This we hope will eliminate the work load on CO's, EFD's, and otherwise by allowing a more inhouse, streamlined process! Remember that you should always follow your chain of command, however if you believe that you cannot without facing undue reprise- you may use this form to report the violation anonymously! --Wanna be a XO, or even CO?-- If you or someone you know wants to be an XO or even CO
in IDF, we encourage you to apply for the position. IDF is always looking
for new XO's and CO's, and you could be the next one! Simply fill
out the following at
http://www.independencefleet.com/XOApplication.html if you are
interested in applying for Executive Officer, or
http://www.independencefleet.com/COApplication.html if you are
applying for CO --USS Sentinel-- We would like to welcome the USS Sentinel to IDF, it was launched earlier last month, and is being Commanded by Captain James Ross! The Senior Admiralty wishes to extend our blessings and best wishes to Captain Ross and the crew of the Sentinel! --USS Athena-- This month we also saw the launch of the USS Athena, Commanded by Captain Kathryn Sinclair. Anyone interested in joining the Dread, or if you know someone that is interested in learning more about the Dread and her Crew can do so by visiting http://dread.independencefleet.com/. In appreciation for taking on the extra work load, the Senior Admiralty has agreed to issue Starfleet Service Ribbons with Oak Leaf Clusters to anyone taking on an additional Character to help the dread. --Farewell DS24-- Deep Space 24 has tendered its resignation to the Senior Admiralty. DS24 found it extremely difficult to succeed in IDF, as they had very stringent posting rules for their ship- Due to this hardship, DS 24 has found itself floundering and unable to continue in IDF. We wish her Captain and remaining crew the best of luck in all of their endeavors!
GWB: Post 2350 was made by Rear Admiral
Pontmercy. Post 2400 was also made by RAdm Pontmercy. |
Fleet Wide: This month, the Senior Admiralty has expanded its positions to include two new positions, as mentioned below: Captain Savai N'gellin, long time member of IDF, and former CO of the USS Patriot, is hereby promoted to the rank of Admiral and will be assuming the post of Director of Fleet Intelligence and Security. This position is directly responsible for overseeing the smooth flow of operations in IDF, ensuring that all individuals are playing by the rules, meeting the necessary fleet requirements, and in a sense, keeping an eye on the fleet and the simms of the fleet! This individual will also serve as an Alternate Judge Advocate General, if needed. For the moment Admiral N'gellin will remain on the USS Patriot- serving in the capacity of DFIS. Captain Lima Jarvas will retain command of the USS Patriot, until other accommodations can be made! Original IDF member, Captain Joseph Carroll is hereby promoted to Vice Admiral and charged with the position of Director of Specials Operations. This individual will coordinate with all Specials Ops, Special Forces, Marine, HazMat, and Fighter Wing, unit commanders to ensure the proper flow of information, command and otherwise. If you are a member of ANY of these units, please contact Vice Admiral Carroll at your earliest convenience, and acquaint him with yourself, so that he can better help you! Also this month we expand by adding another Elite Force, Elite Force Tango. In doing so we have made minor realignments to the current organizational structure of IDF's chain of command, to see these realignments, please visit http://www.independencefleet.com/home.html . This EF will contain the USS Sentinel, USS Meskwaki, and USS Promise. Commanding this up and coming Elite Force will be announced at a later time! Also, to foster this realignment, the Admiralty has decided to promote Commodore Pearson Altaire to Rear Admiral (upper half) for her dedicated service to Independence Fleet. The Admiralty appreciates your hard work, and commitment to this fleet! USS Avalon-C: Lt. Orio
Message from the GED / CnC This month has again brought many changes to Independence Fleet, we are continuously expanding, growing, and trying to create a more enjoyable atmosphere. This month has seen the launch of several new simms, and unfortunately the loss of two simms. However, rest assured that while a simm may die, the fleet as a whole grows stronger, and we press onward. Remember, this fleet is not commanded by one person, it is managed by a group of Admiral's, including myself, that manage it based off of the input we receive from each member! So please, do not hesitate to provide your opinions or ideas! This is what makes Independence Fleet truly great! This month, I would personally like to ask every individual in IDF to work on recruiting just a few friends- anyone you know, try and recruit them. Recruitment is the key to maintaining a stable and enjoyable fleet, and in any case the key to expanding IDF! My personal goal for IDF is to surpass 200 members by July 2006. Presently we have just over 120 members! If each of you recruits just one person- we will easily surpass that goal! In addition to this, any person who recruits 8 or more individuals that join IDF and remain active for three or more months, will be issued a commendation from myself and the Senior Admiralty personally, an IDF Admiralty Commendation Service Ribbon, and an automatic promotion to Cmdr! As well as the opportunity to be selected as the Deputy Director of Fleet Recruitment! Remember, if you recruit them, they MUST mention that you recruited them for you to receive credit for the recruit! Good luck, and remember to have fun! R/s, Fleet Admiral Jeremiah A. Griffith |
